Dissemination contacting national legislative bodies working with the Rectors Conference on-line dissemination of case-studies to introduce good practice foundation of a national on-line consulting centre providing chat-rooms and/or extensive mailing lists with free access concerning the external practice and the legal practices assuring the European dimension publication of the results on our homepage encouraging the professional dialogue searching for publication possibilities in the field of LLL research and development informing the members about the possibilities of e-publication and on-line publication of databases with free access. New National LLL Networks Organisation The University of Debrecen LLL Centre, taking on the MELLearN leadership, is implementing its aim to adapt to the transnational trends in realising the THENUCE objectives. A MELLearN Steering Committee will be formed to carry out the management and the control of the network. It will be the strategic board of the network, its members being delegated by the heads of the member universities The MELLearN Committee members must have the appropriate decision making power to represent effectively the strategic realisation of LLL at their universities. The MELLearN Presidents will be the rectors of the founding universities, assuming this post in turn. The presidential term is one year. In the first year the Rector of the University of Gödöllő assumes the presidency. In the following years the Presidents will be the Rectors of the other universities in alphabetical order. The President-elect will be the Vice-President during the preceding year of his/her term of presidency. The University of Debrecen LLL Centre manages the secretariat with help of THENUCE. The MELLearN Secretary General will be the Director of the LLL Centre. The MELLearN Committee will seek cooperation and relationship with other bodies and committees promoting similar social interests. 3/5

There will be at least one international meeting every year where visiting professionals would lecture. On the 19 October 2002 experts from the European Commission and the ACA agreed come to lecture on a MELLearN conference Working groups will be organised on appropriate themes: MELLearN role in the shaping the National Education and Employment Policy Activities There will be several meetings, seminars and/or conferences organised every year At the beginning of every year there will be a general assembly at the university taking on the presidency establishment of a MELLearN Implementation Plan definition of the profile of University LLL Centres studying the current state and problems of education laws and the EU compatible harmonisation of the institutional credit systems New National LLL Networks External support in launching MELLearN THENUCE support In the first years THENUCE helps launching the MELLearN network This support could be provided in several forms: assistance to the Debrecen secretariat support in the organisation of MELLearN meetings assistance in establishing international contacts help in applying for new European projects and for support from the European Union help to identify and invite international professionals and the experts of the European Commission to the international conferences of MELLearN Note: as every European project, THENUCE gets only limited funding from the European Commission, so its financial contribution can only be very limited. The institutions participating in the MELLearN Network must cover their own expenses and contribute to the cost of common activities. The support of the University of Debrecen The Rectors Board of the University of Debrecen has unanimously accepted to support the working of MELLearN On the 14th February 2002 the Rectors Board decided: to authorise the University s LLL Centre to act as the MELLearN secretariat to provide office accommodation for the MELLearN secretariat to finance part time staff for the MELLearN secretariat 4/5
