PRESENTATION This bike is designed for biking at home. Biking is an excellent form of cardio training, for increasing cardiovascular capacity and burning calories. In addition, this type of exercise allows you to tone your lower body muscles (gluteals, quads, hamstrings, calves). The upper body muscles (abdominals, back, arms) are also involved in the exercise. This bike is fitted with a strap drive system. RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USE Read instructions carefully and keep for future reference. 1. Check your fitness level with your medical practitioner. This is especially important for persons over the age of 35 or persons with pre-existing health problems. 2. The owner is responsible for ensuring that all users of this product are properly informed as to how to use this product safely. 3. If the appliance is misused, DOMYOS cannot be held liable for the material damage and bodily harm which may result. 4. This equipment is for household use only (class H). It is not suitable for professional and/or commercial use. 5. Wear sports shoes to protect your feet. Tie up your hair. Do not wear loose clothing that is likely to get in your way. Take off all jewellery. 6. If you experience dizziness, nausea, chest pain, or any other abnormal symptom, stop exercising immediately and consult a doctor. 7. Do not place your hands or feet near moving parts. 8. Do not allow adjustment equipment to stick out. 9. This bike does not have a freewheel function. The pedals continue to turn as long as the flywheel is moving. 10. To stop gradually, slow down the cadence until the wheel completely stops. 11. For an emergency stop, press the resistance knob. 12. At the end of your training session, lock the bike by fully turning the resistance knob in a clockwise direction. 13. The machine must be placed on a stable, flat, horizontal surface. MAINTENANCE For your safety, regularly examine your appliance. Tighten fastenings. Inspect the parts subject to most wear. Immediately replace faulty parts. Do not use the appliance until it is repaired. SETTINGS Please note, you need to get off the bike before adjusting the saddle, handlebars and level. 1. SADDLE HEIGHT: To exercise efficiently, your knees must be slightly bent when the pedals are at their lowest. While holding the saddle, untighten and pull the adjustment handle. Adjust the height. Release the handle so that the index pin enters one of the holes on the saddle post (you should hear a click). Tighten it completely. DEPTH: While holding the saddle, unscrew and pull the adjustment handle under the saddle post. Adjust the position then tighten it. 2. HANDLEBAR While holding the handlebars, untighten and pull the adjustment handle. Adjust the height then tighten it. 3. LEVELLING If it is unstable, adjust the level compensators at the back of the bike. 4. PEDAL STRAPS TIGHTENING: Pull on the end of the strap. LOOSENING: Push on the buckle to free the strap. 5. RESISTANCE INCREASE: Turn the adjustment knob clockwise. DECREASE: Turn counter-clockwise. USING THE CONSOLE 1 Your console enables you to monitor your performance during training. 1. Main screen: Press MODE / RESET to display the information you wish. 2. Time 3. Calories 4. Distance 5. Pedaling frequency (in revs per minute) // Speed set 2 3 4 5 mode reset RESETTING YOUR PERFORMANCE Press the MODE / RESET button for 3 seconds. SETTING THE DATE AND TIME When the console is switched on for the first time: Press the SET button to set the time. Press the MODE / RESET button to confirm. To change the date and time after confirmation, you need to remove and replace the console battery. 8
SCREEN SAVER After 4 minutes without activity, the console will switch to standby and display the temperature, time and date. To view your performances, press one of the 2 buttons. SETTING A TARGET Press the MODE / RESET button to select the target(s) of your choice (time, distance or calories). Press the SET button to adjust the value (holding the button down will increase the value faster). Press the MODE / RESET button to confirm. When a target is reached, you will hear an 8 second alarm. REPLACING THE BATTERY Unscrew the 4 screws on the console cover. Replace the battery (CR2032). Close the cover and tighten the 4 screws. EN DIAGNOSING ERRORS INCONSISTENT DISTANCE AND SPEED INFORMATION Check the position of the sensor (the distance between the sensor and the magnet on the front wheel of the bike must be 1 or 2 mm). DISPLAY FAULT Check the battery and replace it if necessary. USE If you are a beginner, start by training for several days at a gentle pace; don't push yourself and rest if necessary. Gradually increase the frequency and duration of sessions. Ensure the room in which you are exercising is well ventilated. Stretching/warming up: Gentle effort for a minimum of 10 minutes To maintain fitness or for rehabilitation, train every day for at least 10 minutes. This type of exercise provides a good, gentle work-out for muscles and joints and can be used as a warm-up activity before more intense physical exercise. To develop muscle tone in the legs, choose a steeper incline and increase the duration of the exercise. Aerobic exercise for weight loss: Moderate effort for 35 to 60 minutes This type of training is an effective way of burning calories. There is no point in pushing yourself unduly; for the best results the most important thing is frequency of exercise (at least 3 times a week) and the duration of the session (35 to 60 minutes). Exercise at average intensity (moderate effort so you are not out of breath). In order to lose weight, as well as taking regular physical exercise, it's essential to follow a balanced diet. Aerobic training for endurance: Sustained effort for 20 to 40 minutes This type of exercise helps strengthen the heart muscle and improves your respiratory health. Exercise at least 3 times a week at a steady pace (rapid breathing). As your training progresses, you will be able to maintain this effort for longer, and at an improved pace. Training at a faster pace (anaerobic and in the red zone) is reserved for athletes and requires special preparation. Cool down After each training session, walk slowly for a few minutes to bring your body gradually to rest. This cool down phase helps your cardiovascular and respiratory systems, blood circulation and muscles return to normal. It also helps to eliminate side effects such as the accumulation of lactic acid which is one of the major causes of muscle pain (cramps and stiffness). Stretching Stretching after exercise reduces muscle stiffness caused by lactic acid accumulation and stimulates blood circulation.
