Apostolok cselekedeteiről írott könyv 2:1-21 Amerikai szolgálatom során meglepett, amikor a naptárakban kerestem a pünkösd napját, sehol nem találtam. Sajnálattal jegyeztem meg magamban, hogy az az amerikai társadalom, amelyről azt mondják, hogy jobban vallásosabb, mint más népek, nem tartja fontosnak jelezni pünkösdöt, az egyház születésnapját a naptárakban. Más kisebb népek vallási ünnepei is ott vannak a naptárakban, de úgy látszik, hogy a keresztyén pünkösd már nem olyan fontos. Egy egyházi iskolában történt, hogy az egyik vasárnap a reggeli istentiszteleten az ötödikesek szépen sorba álltak a templomban és mindegyik mondott egy-egy mondatot az apostoli hitvallásból. Ez minden vasárnap így ment, kilépett az egyik lány és mondta: Hiszek egy Istenben, mindenható Atyában, mennynek és földnek teremtőjében majd egy fiú folytatta: És Jézus Krisztusban, az ő egyszülött Fiában így ment tovább, mondták a diákok a hitvallás további részeit, míg egyszer csak kényszerű csend lett és senki nem folytatta tovább. A csendet az egyik lány szavai törtek meg, aki előre lépett és mondta: Sajnálom, de az a fiú, aki hisz a Szentlélekben, az ma hiányzik az osztályból. Igen, ma ennek vagyunk a tanúi, sok egyházban hiányzik a Szentlélek, de leginkább azok, akik megvallják azt. Számunkra nagyon fontos tudni, hogy ha nem adatott volna Szentlélek, nem lennének egyházak! Most pünkösdöt ünnepelünk, ami azonban nemcsak az egyház születésnapja, hanem az erőnek és Isten Lelkének megtapasztalása volt azon az ünnepen. Jelentse ma nekünk is ugyanezt minden egyházban, minden gyülekezetben vasárnapról vasárnapra, hogy erőt adjon, átformáljon, átalakítson és tegyen alkalmassá küldetésének elvégzésére. A tanítványokról azt olvassuk a pünkösdi történetben, hogy együtt voltak, egy helyen, amikor Isten jelenléte megérintette őket szél és tűz formájában. Kimennek az emberek közé és elkezdenek beszélni, amely nyelvet mindenki megértett, amely beszéd a Bábeli nyelvzavart is érvénytelenné tette. Egy nyelvet beszélnek, amely végét jelzi a fajok, nemzetek és kultúrák szétválasztásának, amely arra utal, hogy Isten Szentlelke által megszűnik minden különbség ember és ember között. Péter apostol bátor kiállása és beszéde ezreket térít meg, akik átadják életüket és szívüket Istennek. Olvassuk, hogy félelemmel és csodálattal telt meg a lelkük, látva azokat az eseményeket, amelyekben Isten az Ő Lelke által munkálkodott. A lelki egység nemcsak a szívükre, hanem anyagi életükre is hatással volt, közösséget alakítanak, állandóan együtt voltak a gyülekezetben, mindenük közös volt és segítették a szükségben lévőket, követendő példák lettek mások számára. Így növekedett az az első gyülekezet a Szentlélek Isten csodálatos munkája nyomán. A Szentlélek kitöltetését tapasztalták meg ezek az emeberek. Mi is elmegyünk a templomainkba, a gyülekezet közösségébe, és várunk a Szentlélek ajándékaira, mint az első pünkösdi tanítványok. Várunk a Szentlélek gyógyító erejére, aki elveszi a múlt fájó sebeit, aki meggyógyítja betegségeinket, gyengeségeinket. Várunk Isten Lelkére, aki meggyógyítja kételkedő gondolatainkat, félelmeinket és egyedüllétünket. Várunk Isten Lelkére, aki meggyógyítja önzőségünket, önsajnálatunkat és öngyűlöletünket. Isten Lelkére várunk, aki megújít minket, aki hatalmas látásokat és álmokat ad nekünk, amelyeknek betöltésére Lelkével ösztönöz minket. Isten Lelkére várunk, hogy életünknek gyümölcstermése legyen lelki ajándékaink és tálentumaink felmutatásával. Isten Lelkére várunk, aki újjáteremti az egyházat, benne gyülekezeteinket és minket, ahogyan a Szentlélek átformálta és megerősítette a tanítványok félénk és gyenge társaságát. Isten Szentlelkére várunk, hogy tegyen azzá, amik vagyunk, keresztyén emberekké. Jövel Szentlélek Úr Isten! Ha a Szentlélek megtölt, bennünk lakik, felgerjeszt, jóváhagy és küldetésre hatalmaz fel minket, mi lehet az eredmény? Hát akkor mire várunk? Pünkösddel egy új korszak indul el, a Lélek korszaka. Ezen az úton tudatni akarjuk egymással és a világgal is, hogy milyen legyen az egyházunk, a gyülekezetünk, amikor egyházaink küldetésnyilatkozatait fogalmazzuk meg. A legtöbb gyülekezet a saját küldetését az alábbiak szerint vallja meg: Istentiszteleti helyet biztosítunk a gyülekezetnek, ahol Istent imádhatjuk a Szentírás és Jézus Krisztus tanítása szerint, ahol felajánljuk minden gyülekezeti tag számára a lelki, erkölcsi és szellemi nevelést, ahol Istent szolgáljuk tehetségünkkel, időnkkel, energiánkkal, anyagi javainkkal, ahol a közösségről való gondoskodást fontosnak tartjuk, ahol buzdítjuk egymást Isten szolgálatába való bekapcsolódásra a gyülekezetben és a világban. Ezért érdemes élni, ez egy olyan elhívás, amelyre érdemes válaszolni. Legyen Szentlélekkel megtöltve gyülekezeteinknek élete! A Szentlélekkel megtöltött egyház Krisztus központú egyház Vajon mi jelenti az egyházaknak a legnagyobb értékét? Az épületek, programok, az istentiszteleti liturgiák, az egyházi zene, az énekek, az egyház pénzügyei, az anyagiak, a kiváló emberek? Nem, mert valójában ezek csak ideiglenes kövek az épületben, amelyek egyszer elmúlnak. Minden egyház örökkévaló alapja az Istennek Jézus Krisztusban kijelentett akarata, a Szentírás tanításai és a Szentlélek hatalmas munkája. Ismerd meg Őt mint isteni szikrát önmagadban, mint aki az igazi Én minden ember lényegében. Ismerd Őt, mint az ember Jézust, vagy mint a kozmikus Krisztust, az erkölcsi normák tanítóját, vagy az örökkévaló Igét, aki minden teremtett dolog felett van. Ismerd meg Őt a Szentlélek által! Az Ontarioi Független Magyar Református Egyház templomának tornya felújítás alatt egy tornádó okozta kár után A Szentlélekkel megtöltött egyház Istent imádó és tisztelő egyház A templom egy szentély, egy menedékhely, az ünneplés, az örvendezés, az Isten dicső-ítésének a helye. A hívő közösség központi cselekménye az istentisztelet, amely létrehozza és fenntartja a közösséget, mint gyülekezetet. Templomba menni azt jelenti, egy szent helyre megyünk egy szent időben, és egyakarattal összekötjük magunkat Istennel és a másik embberrel. Az istentisztelet a hívők közösségén belül a teljes személyiség hitből fakadó, Istentől irányított, Krisztus központú, a Szentlélek által feltöltött cselekménye, ami semmivel nem helyettesíthető. A Szentlélekkel megtöltött egyház Bibliát ismerő egyház Az élet és halál titkai találhatóak a szent szövegben. Az üzenet mindannyiunk számára ott van kételkedés és kétségbeesés idejében, de mi ellenállunk és semmibe vesszük ezt, félünk attól, amit a legkevésbé értünk. Az Ige egyháza a Szentlélek által érti meg Jézus Krisztus megváltói munkáját, amit értünk tett, bűnös emberekért. 3. oldal A Szentlélekkel megtöltött egyház hálaáldozatban élő egyház Az istentiszteleten a közösségben valljuk meg Istennek, hogy szeretjük őt. A közösségben mutatjuk fel Őt és valljuk meg, hogy minden amink van, tőle jön. Ő a mi életünk forrása és a mindenség Ura, mi csak megbízottak, sáfárok vagyunk, tartozunk neki hálaáldozatunkkal. A hívő ember hálaáldozata a szívből fakadó adományokban teljesdik ki. Semmi nem tárja fel annyira nyílvánvalóan az egyház iránti kötelezettséget, mint valakinek a személyes példája az adakozásban. Mutasd áldozatodat és megmondom milyen hívő ember vagy! Semmi nem indít el nagyobb előrehaladást az egyházban, mint az emelkedő anyagi támogatás a hívek részéről. Csak ez teszi képessé az egyházat arra, amire hivatott. Lássuk meg életünket mint Isten ajándékát és éljük azt hálával és lelkesedéssel. Semi nem gyógyítja jobban a lélek mélységében vergődő embert és az alacsony önbecsülést mint a Szentlélektől irányított nagylelkű hálaáldozat. A Szentlélekkel megtöltött egyház szeretet-központú amely gondoskodó és terhet vállaló egyház Szeretet nélkül nincs szolgálat. A szolgálat abból áll, hogy átvesszük a másik gondjait, terheit és átvállaljuk azok hordozását. A jézusi tehervállalásra és a másik emberről való gondoskodásra a Szentlélek ereje tesz alkalmassá. A Szentlélekkel megtöltött egyház haladó szellemű egyház Soha nem tudunk lelki emberekké válni, ha csak leülünk és várjuk, hogy történjen velünk valami. Szükség van arra, hogy vegyük a Szentlelket és annak erejével betöltsük feladatainkat, elvégezzük szolgálatainkat. Magunkra kell venni valami nagyot, amiről tudjuk, hogy azt a magunk erejéből nem tudjuk befejezni. Isten Szentlelke elvezet arra, hogy felfedezzük, most van itt az idő, hogy Vele tudjunk előre haladni a hit bátorságával. A Szentlélekkel megtöltött egyház evangélizáció-igényes és evangélizációt elismerő egyház A Krisztus-központú, az Istent imádó, a Bibliát ismerő és hálaáldozatban élő, a gondoskodó, imádkozó, vigyázó és haladó szellemű egyház mindig fog vonzani hasonló gondolkodású és hasonló lelkületű embereket, ahogyan a mágnes magához vonzza a vasreszeléket. A Szentlélekkel megtöltött egyház egy titok, amit világosságra kell hozni, nem lehet eltakarni. A Szentlélekkel megtöltött egyház kinyújtott kar, amelyik nem tarthatja magát távol az emberektől. És éppen amikor elérünk a másik emberhez, aki vágyik a Szentlélek megismerésére, rajtunk keresztül fogja megtalálni Istent, és megmarad az Ő közelségében. Ne felejtsük, a hívő élet a leghatalmasabb térítőbeszéd, szükségünk van rá és szüksége van erre a világnak. A pünkösdi történetben olvassuk: halljuk, amint a mi nyelvünkön beszélnek az Isten felséges dolgairól. A mostani pünkösdi ünnepünkön legyünk készek arra, hogy megérintsen minket is Isten Szentlelkének a szele és tüze, hogy megérezzük és megtapasztaljuk Isten felséges dolgait életünkben, mert minket keres az Úr Lelke által, hogy megváltoztassa egyéni és közösségi életünket. Ezért kérjük imádságainkban és énekünkben: Jövel Szentlélek Úr Isten! - Töltsd meg szívünket és egyházunkat Lelked erejével! 4 4. oldal MAGYAR EGYHÁZ ON EASTER MORNING Mark 16: They arrived early. These ladies didn t arrive early in anticipation, but rather to take care of unfinished business. Luke 23:55-56 records that they had seen the tomb and where his body was laid after he was taken down from the cross. Yet, they had to return home where they prepared the spices, and ointments, but their work was delayed because of the sabbath. Even though Nicodemus, and Joseph had annointed his the Lord s body, it was done in haste, and was not satisfactory enough for these ladies. Thus, as soon as they could following the sabbath, early in the morning while it was still dark, they left their homes, met together, and went to the tomb of Jesus. One must admire the devotion, and courage of these ladies. Oh, how they loved him! He must have a proper burial. It was the least they could do. They were courageous in what they did. They did not fear the darkness nor did they fear being identified with Christ. We have gotten up early this morning and come to this place for a different reason. Notice also They arrived expecting. What did those ladies expect? They expected to find a body. They came there to annoint the body of the Lord with spices, and ointments since they were unable to do so because of the Sabbath. What do we expect when we go to a graveyard? We expect that there will be tears shed...that there will be grieving, and that a body will be lowered down in the ground, and covered with dirt. Then notice They arrived entering. Mark 16:3-4 And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulcher? And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great. As these ladies came to the place where they had seen the body of Christ laid, they were discussing how they would be able to get into the tomb. They had seen the huge stone that was rolled in front of it after his death, and knew that it was to large for them to move. Their major concern was access to the body. Apparently these ladies had no confidence that the Roman Soldiers who had been dispatched to guard the tomb would be courteous enough to roll away the stone. After all had they not been instructed to seal the tomb...indicating that it was not to be disturbed. Yet, God gave them access to an empty tomb. They arrived anticipating to find a stone in front of the tomb, but what they found was the stone rolled away, and the tomb empty!!! 4. They departed excited! What a great way to leave a cemetery? Amen? We don t usually leave graveyards excited? We usually leave their in pain over the death of a family member or friend! Even, if it s not someone that we were closely acquainted with...excitement is not an emotion we usually feel after leaving the graveyard...yet, these ladies were excited! The source of their excitement was, of course, the resurrection of The Lord Jesus Christ. Mark records that they left quickly and fled...and that they trembled and were amazed! Matthew 28:8 captures the moment in a beautiful way..." And they departed quickly from the sepulcher with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word. The resurrection of the Lord allows us a different view of death. Death is no longer a dead end. It is no longer something that one must face with dread, and despair. Death is no... longer the enemy of those who believe because it has been challenged, and conquered by the Lord. Because he lives, we shall live also. The Passion of Christ, and his death would have been without any merit if not for the resurrection. The devil thought he had won. Jesus had died on the cross. His limp, lifeless body removed from the cross, and laid in a tomb secured, sealed, and guarded by Roman Soldiers. Yet, "Surprise"! Death, and the grave cannot hold the Son of God. He had the authority to lay down his life, and he had the authority to take it again! We wait for God s Spirit to make us what we have been called to be. Come, Holy Spirit! Can Progressive Protestants Put Up With Pentecost? On Sunday mornings as they began class, the fifth graders would line up and each would recite one phrase of the Apostles Creed. This went on for about four months, until one Sunday. The class began the usual way. The first girl recited her line flawlessly, I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth.

5 MAGYAR EGYHÁZ The second, a boy, stood up and added his sentence, I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord. But then silence descended over the class. Finally, one girl, who felt she knew what was wrong stood up and announced, I m sorry, sir, but the boy who believes in the Holy Ghost is absent today! And that s the way it is in most Christian churches: the Holy Spirit is strangely absent. Yet, were it not for the giving of the Spirit, there would be no Christian Church. We celebrate Pentecost not only as the birthday of the Church, but because there is something about the strange, ecstatic events of that day long ago that is available Sunday after Sunday in our church and in every church. They were there: Peter, John and James, and the other apostles. Acts 2:1-21. They were there when the Spirit descended. And today we are in our churches, waiting as they waited for the gift of God s Spirit. We wait for God s Spirit to heal us, to take away the wounds of the past, to take away our sense of have been shamed and betrayed by those who were supposed to love us. We wait for God s Spirit to heal our bodies of illness and weakness. We wait for God s Spirit to heal our minds of doubt and fear and loneliness. We wait for God s Spirit to heal us of selfcenteredness, of self-pity, of self-loathing. We wait for God s Spirit to renew us, to give a visions and dreams so powerful that the very utterance of them pulls us toward their fulfillment. We wait for God s Spirit to release our creativity, to call forth our gifts and talents. We wait for God s Spirit to recreate us as the Church, just as the Holy Spirit melded and empowered the rag-tag band of which we read in Luke s account of Pentecost. And if God s Spirit fills and indwells and excites and validates and commissions us, what will be the result? What can we expect as we together approach a new century? Lets talk obout the mission of our Church, which could be the statement of our congregations. Our mission is to provide a sanctuary where the congregation can worship God according to the teachings and spirit of Jesus Christ; to nurture the spiritual, moral, and intellectual growth of each person in our congregation; to serve God with our talents, our time, our energy, and our money, accepting full stewardship for our community - the World; to encourage others to join us in our ministries. Our Mission Statement is vision of our Church as it moves toward to the future. It is a vision of the emergence of a Spirit-filled church. And what exactly is a Spirit-filled church? A Spirit-filled church is a Christ-centered church. What is this church s greatest asset or any church s greatest asset? Its buildings, its programs, its worship services, its music, its finances, its wonderful people? Truly, it is none of these. For these are only the temporal building blocks. The eternal foundation of this church or of any church is the will of God revealed in the person of Jesus, the teachings of Scripture, and the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit. Understand Jesus in any way that suits you. Regard him as a prophet, a sage, a seer, a holy man, God s most perfect image, God incarnate, the coming king, and the heavenly judge. Know him as the divine spark within each of us, the true Self at the core of each person. Know him as Jesus the man or as the cosmic Christ, as the teacher of moral maxims or as the eternal Word through whom all things were made.know him in any way, shape, or form you can, but know him. A Spirit-filled church is a worshiping church. A church is a sanctuary, a place of refuge, a place to celebrate, to rejoice, to praise God. Worship is the central act of the believing community. It is the single act that constitutes and 5. oldal maintains the community as a community. Coming to church is coming to a sacred place at sacred time to deliberately bind ourselves to God and to one another. Worship is the intentional, God-directed, Christ-centered, Spirit-charged act of the total personality within the fellowship of believers. Accept no substitutes. A Spirit-filled church is a biblically literate church. The secrets of life and death are there - in the sacred text. The message that each of us needs in a time of doubt and despair is there. But we resist and we ignore that message. We fear most what we understand least. A Spirit-filled church is a thanksgiving church. Worship is our way of telling God that we love him; stewardship is our way of showing him. All that we have comes from God. He is the source of our lives and the landlord of the universe. Thanksgiving is merely paying the rent due to our Creator. Nothing more obviously reveals commitment to a church than one s personal giving pattern. Show me a person s check stubs and I will show you what he or she really believes. Nothing creates greater excitement and forward movement in a church than increased financial support. And nothing better enables a church to do the work to which it is called. Moreover, people who are generous with their money are generous in their appreciation of one another. They see life as a gift and live it with gratitude and zest. Nothing cures depression and low self-esteem like generosity. A Spirit-filled church is a love-centered and caringthrough-sharing church. A Spirit-filled church is a praying church. Prayer is the stretching out of the divine within each of us to the God who made us in his own image. Prayer brings love alive among us. Prayer lies at the heart of all personal godliness. Prayer throws us onto the frontier of the spiritual life. Of all the Spiritual Disciplines prayer is the most central it is the discipline of prayer that brings us into the deepest and highest work of the human spirit. Real prayer is life-creating and life-changing. I am convinced that every activity of a Christian church and every day of every individual Christian s life should begin and end with prayer. A Spirit-filled church is a culturally aware and socially active church. A Spirit-filled church is a progressive church. We never become truly spiritual by sitting down and wishing to become so. You must undertake something so great that you cannot accomplish it unaided. And I would add, the place for greatness is here. The time for greatness is now. A Spirit-filled church is an evangelism-intensive and evangelism-affirming church. A Christ-centered, worshiping, biblically literate, and generous church cannot help ut attract members. A caring, praying, aware, and progressive church will always draw likeminded and like-spirited people as surely as a magnet draws iron filings. A Spirit-filled church is a secret that cannot be kept. A Spirit-filled church cannot keep itself from reaching out to others. And even as we reach out, those who are hungry for the Spirit of God will be find us, and those who are being fed will stay. They were there and they reported, We hear the wonders of God in our own tongues. We will be in our churches on this Pentecost, ready for the wind and the flame of God s Spirit, ready to be part of the wonders of God here and now. And our hearts cry out, Come, Holy Spirit, come! 6 6. oldal MAGYAR EGYHÁZ The Hungarian Reformed Church is a mission Our progress is determined in part by our past. For nearly 100 years, we Hungarian Reformed congregations have lived out of a truth: in Christ Jesus we are one. Since the beginning we have voiced the validity of our mission, to pass the Word of God to our Hungarian brethren. Today one description of our way of sharing that good news is: we are Hungarian Reformed, a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world. God is calling us to him, in this broken and injured world, we do have to option to choose life. Choosing life is attitude. It s prayerfully focusing on God s blessings; it s deciding to live according to God s will. Choosing life is also action. It s caring for the body. For individuals, this means attention to exercise the faith. For church, caring for the body, means attention to the covenant by which we are related to God and each other. This is our mission and our duty as Hungarian Reformed Churches. We have to know that... The Church is a mission In the early days of the establisment of the Hungarian Reformed Church in America in all its previous forms, the church didn t have a mission; it was a mission. A mission to share the love and grace of God with others! It is my desire that we begin to see ourselves as a movement, a people on a mission of inviting and forming disciples of Jesus Christ, as opposed to having a mission. I invite you today and in the future to renew your commitment to being a living mission - in body, mind, and spirit, as a church and our Hungarian communities across the American Continent. The Church is a mission A living mission through healthy bodies Health and wholeness are foundational to discipleship. Everywhere Jesus went in his ministry, he healed, taught and then people followed him. Reaching out to the health needs of the people was his first means of interaction and so it needs to be for us today. In years past, Hungarian Reformed built wonderful churches but also nursing homes and other facilities for the health and wholeness of people in our communities. Just for example, in what Bethlen Home at Ligonier,PA does, we are unique within the Hungarian community, even world wide. We still have some of those, but the health and wholeness needs of people in our communities have changed; maybe we don t need more institutions, but we need more grassroots movements of changing unhealthy habits into holy ones. I would like to challenge the clergy and the layity to indulge in healthy, holy living. I used and will continue to use the word indulge because in our society today to eat healthfully, exercise, spend time in prayer and personal Bible study is truly felt as indulging; clergy often feel that they can t afford the time or effort to be healthy and holy. The Church is a mission A living mission through our minds One of my goals since became the bishop of our denomination has been to raise the awareness of Calvinism in our congregations! The last year was a very good time to remembering for John Calvin who was born 500 years ago. This rememberance in our congregations was worthy of his faithful life and service. I want people around our Synod to know the wonderful secret of Calvinism! In the 21. century, we as Calvinists need to raise our awareness about who we are. What makes us unique and therefore even a favored option for those many people who have no religious affiliation. Don t be ashamed of our faith! The Church is a mission A living mission through our spirits When we find out who we are as Calvinists, we will discover that we need to return to the holy practices of prayer and Bible study. Our "ethos" is not that of being people of the Bible - we know that biblical illiteracy is high in our denomination - or a people who spend significant time in prayer. There are certainly exceptions to this "ethos," but unfortunately, we have lost touch with our roots in being people of the Scripture and of prayer. How many of us spend time in prayer and Bible study. I went "Googling" on the Internet to see if I was off base in my sense that most people don t read the Bible and pray each day. I looked at about five to eight fairly well respected surveys, including Barna, and all of them reported percentages ranging between 15 to 18 percent of Christians who read their Bibles daily. Over 90 percent of Christians own a Bible. I ask all members of our congregations to read their Bibles and pray at least 30 minutes per day! It s not too much. People ask me how to have vital congregations, but I believe that we need to work on vital Christians, too, people who are steeped in the word of God and a relationship with God through prayer. The Church is a mission A living mission through our churches Churches need to be places where holy, healthy living is foundational in order to invite and form disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Every church needs a system or plan or pathway to help lifelong Christians as well as new Christians grow deeper in their relationship with God through Christ. I call it a disciple making system. How do our churches help form, shape, and develop Christians as disciples. There are many ways for us to live out our discipleship, our Christian faith; - through Bible study, prayer, worship. To be a disciple means that we are lifelong learners and followers, never seeing our faith as a destination - we ve arrived! To be a disciple means that we are reaching out, sharing the little bit of what we know about God with others so that they might have the same sense of love and grace that we have. We have to have a plan and implementation of a disciple making system. What do you have? What do people need? What s missing? How can you better utilize the resources available through our denomination to help form Christian faith? It would be nice if our disciple making system would transformed our individual and congregational life - through a Bible study, a prayer circle, a Women s study, a Sunday School class you ve been a part of for years, as many congragation has. The Church is a mission A living mission in our communities The practice of our faith is meant to do nothing less than transform the world around us! Throughout our locations of ministry in the Hungarian reformed congregations, we are performing many acts of mercy and even justice for those most in need. However, I want to encourage each congregation to care for the needy people in your communities, and also do not forget our brothers and sisters in Hungary and in the Carpathian basin especially the children who are the future generation everywhere. How is your church transforming your community? God expects nothing less from us as disciples of Jesus Christ!
