AOTrauma Course Basic Principles of Fracture Management for ORP page 2 Goal of the course The AOTrauma Course Basic Principles of Fracture Management for ORP provides fundamental knowledge in the operative treatment of fractures according to the AO Principles. Target participants This course is targeted at any operating room personnel (ORP) interested in developing knowledge and skills in the basic principles of operative fracture management. Course objectives At the end of this course, participants will be able to: Describe AO principles for the operative stabilization of fracture Relate soft-tissue damage, fracture healing, and surgical intervention in the injured patient Plan appropriate care for patients in the perioperative environment Anticipate potential pitfalls and intraoperative complications in fracture care Formulate systems for maintaining safe standards of practice Prepare and use appropriate instrumentation/implants for fracture treatment Use professional networks to share ideas, challenge poor practice, and provide support Course description The course structure provides didactic presentations, group discussions between participants and faculty, and practical exercises to apply different operative techniques. This course will address: Fracture healing Bone biology Concepts of absolute and relative stability Treatment of shaft fractures Treatment of articular fractures Soft-tissue management Perioperative problems and complications in fracture care Nursing topics in trauma care Hands-on exercises with artificial bones to apply the techniques and promote familiarization with the instrumentation Interaction between faculty and participants to clarify understanding
AOTrauma Course Basic Principles of Fracture Management for ORP page 3 ORP Elnöki Köszöntő Kedves Műtősnők! 2015-ben a Fővárosi Önkormányzat Péterfy Sándor utcai Kórház-Rendelőintézet és Baleseti Központ rendezésében, a festői szépségű Visegrádon kerül sor a Magyarországon immár hagyományos AO Trauma Műtősnői Bázis Kurzusra. Az utóbbi években az operatív töréskezelés hatalmas fejlődésen ment keresztül. Változtak az alapelvek, új műtéti technikák kerültek bevezetésre.a rutinszerűen használt implantátumok mellett rengeteg olyan új lemez, csavar, szeg került forgalomba, melyeknek naprakész ismerete, alkalmazása komoly kihívást jelent mind a traumatológus, mind a műtősnő számára. Fontos, hogy az operáló orvos legközelebbi munkatársa és segítője, a műtősnő kellő jártassággal bírjon a hagyományos és az új alapelvek, a régi és az új műtéti technikák, a megnövekedett számú műszertálcák és implantátumok, a korszerű motorok kezelésében, alkalmazásában. Az előadások, gyakorlatok, kiscsoportos megbeszélések az alkalmazóképes tudás, a szakmai professzionalizáció megszerzésének lehetőségét nyújtják a résztvevőknek. Ebben az évben a program két újdonsággal is kiegészül. A világon az elsők között Magyarországon kerül sor AO Skillslab programra, valamint egy olyan új kezdeményezésre, amellyel szeretnénk meglepetést szerezni a résztvevőknek! A kurzuson az AO Europe és az AO Hungarian Chapter jelentős oktatási tapasztalattal rendelkező orvosai és műtősnői segítenek az ismeretek elsajátításában, a gyakorlatok kivitelezésében, a kiscsoportos megbeszélések lebonyolításában. A magyar AO tagok számának emelésével és a faculty bővítésével szemben támasztott igénynek megfelelve idén olyan új oktatók, segítők is lehetőséget kapnak, akik a korábbiakban nem, vagy csak kevéssé vettek részt az oktatásban. Az oktatók felkészültsége mellett a kurzus sikerének záloga a hallgatók aktív részvétele. Kíváncsiak vagyunk valamennyi kolléga tapasztalatára, hiszen az AO filozófiájának megfelelően ily módon szerezhetünk információt egymás munkájáról, szakmai eredményeiről és nem utolsó sorban egyéni boldogulásáról.
