The EU solution: diversifying income streams We must decrease the exposure of our higher education entites to governement and european funds Csökkenteni kell az intézmények állami és más közösségi eredetű forrásoknak való kitettségét, javítani kell piaci forrásbevonó képességüket, társadalmi gazdasági szerepvállalásukat (Fokozatváltás a felsőoktatásban)

H2020 in not an OP fund
H2020 in not an OP fund
H2020 in not an OP fund UNEXMIN
H2020 in not an OP fund Challenges & Opportunities International consortium is a guarantee for high quality research For good stewards of the project work can benefit much Benefits for young researchers In general: Smaller budget Very strict financial rules, especially in case of earnings Basic remuneration Additional remuneration is strictly limited
The coordinators responsibility Challenges & Opportunities Almost continuous communication and problem solving being intermediator of all partners issues The responsibility for the timely performance of the project Responsibility for the overall technical content Certain level of financial responsibility Fluent English in written and oral communication Individual and corporate responsibility
Housekeeping and administration Challenges & Opportunities Not just the individual researchers but UoM must adjust to European practices Financial and HR policy adjustments to the H2020 rules Need for intervention in corporate policies and documents No strict control during project performance, post project audit is a different story Language problems
Finances The overhead: (Direct costs-subcontracting)*0,25 = indirect costs Personal costs: Basic remuneration Additional remuneration (max. 8.000 Euro/year) Principle: Increased celery can not be justified by participation in the project
Team work spirit Challenges & Opportunities Something for all of us to learn
Conclusions H2020 is a high prestige research program and thus UoM involvement can have remarkable impact on our prestige The main impact is not measured financial terms but scientific performance Do not give up when fail There is a need more young, talented researchers Congratulation to all who pioneered
