Course Highlights Prerequisites: Must be placed into GUST 0341 (or higher) in reading and must be placed into MATH 2414 (or higher). Completion of PHYS 2325 or PHYS 2425 is required. Credit: 3 (3 lecture)(no Lab) Continuation of calculus-based physics course designed specifically for chemistry, physics, and engineering majors. Topics include principles of electricity and magnetism, electrical circuit components, DC and AC circuits, impendence and power factor theory and examples. Core Curriculum Course. Grading Policy Course grade will be based on following:) Homework assignments (20%) Total four exams, each one 20% of total grade. All exams will be open text book. (No notes or other material allowed.) Some problems on homework and exams are coded with an *. you must Show diagrams, calculations, formulas used and your thinking process to receive credit for the answers. You can use back of the papers for additional space. Be neat and legible. Print your name and date on everything you submit. There will be a 10 point penalty if I can not read your name and date field is missing. 8
Attendance Policy If you are absent, you miss deadline for turning in homework. I may give you a chance to make up homework for valid and verifiable absences upon request (No guarantees). There will be 20 point penalty for late homework submission regardless of absence excuse. 9
Attendance Policy If you are absent for more than 12.5% of the class, you may be dropped from the course. Withdrawal from the class is student s responsibility. Before you reach to this point, you must request a meeting with the instructor and discuss your situation with him.
