BP Chimera-Project POPUP «Tüfujeger» Tour (Ördöghajsza Túra) Yves Lavoyer kiállítása A Chimera Project POP-UP március 16-án megnyitásra kerülő soron következő kiállítása a «Tüfujeger» Tour (Ördöghajsza Túra) egy svájci művész története, aki kerékpárjával járta be a világot. A Chimera-Project 2012-es programsorozatának részeként a «Tüfujeger-Tour» kiállítással egy újabb friss pozíciót mutat meg az urbánus művészetből. A «Tüfujeger-Tour» a nyers anyagok és emlékek gazdag és vizuálisan lehengerlő gyűjteménye: a gondos, koncepciózus gyűjtés, kutatás és reciklálás által Lavoyer műalkotássá transzformálta ezeket az úti relikviákat: precíz, organikusan élő rajzok, többrétegű szitanyomatok, eredeti objektek, élő fotók, rövidfilmek és nagyszabású muráliák a frissen született tanúk, akik a sajátos művészút történetét közvetítik. Lavoyer a reneszánsz művészutakhoz hasonlatos küzdelmes utat választott, kerékpárjával messze elkerülve művészet Mekkáit egy út mellett döntött, aminek nincsen kifejezett célja: az Ördög utáni hajsza kalandozásainak leitmotivjává vált, melyben egyedül maga az út számít. A művész ösvénye a betonút. A Chimera POP Up-ban alkotott helyspecifikus installációjában szintén központi helyet kap a beton: helyi betonspecialistákkal, a VPI stúdióval való együttműködésben a stúdió saját fejlesztésű, speciális betonjából készült lapok alkotják a művész vásznát, melyek médiumként az út és az emlékek közötti kapcsolat folytonosságát megteremtik. -- A Chimera Project művészeti inkubátorként arra törekszik, hogy növelje a művészek láthatóságát és támogassa a szcéna hálózatosodását a nemzetközi színtéren is. Megközelítésünk interdiszciplináris, a szűken vett művészeti kontextus, white cube határait kutatja hazai és külföldi kiállítások, nemzetközi kollaborációk, workshopok által.

Yves Lavoyer, hazatéve «Tüfujeger-Tour»-nak elkeresztelt művészútjáról most kiállítását indítja útnak: első zürichi megállója után most Budapestre érkezett. Március 16-tól április 13-ig a Chimera-Project POP-Up 2012-es programsorozatának részeként egy újabb friss pozíciót képvisel az urbánus művészetből. A kiállítás a nyers anyagok és emlékek gazdag és vizuálisan lehengerlő gyűjteménye, mind-mind a «Tüfujeger» Tour útjának relikviái. A gondos, koncepciózus gyűjtés, kutatás és reciklálás által Lavoyer műalkotássá transzformálta ezeket az emlékeket és anyagokat: a precíz, organikusan élő rajzok, többsíkú szitanyomatok, eredeti objektek, élő fotók, rövidfilmek és imponáló muráliák a frissen született tanúk, akik a sajátos művészút történetét megőrzik. Messze már azok az idők, amikor a fiatal művészek művészutazásaik desztinációjaként Rómát és Párizst választották. A fáradságos művészutak minden komoly alkotó kötelezenő megharcolt élményei voltak karrierjének építése során. Ma az EasyJet ás Internet érában a távolságok másodpercek, fizikailag pedig pár órák alatt legyőzhetők egy kényelmes kis repülőgéppel. Ebben az értelemben Lavoyer a múltnak tiszteleg, hiszen a «Tüfujeger» Tour, a művészút egy kortárs verziójaként a régiekkel azonos motivációkra és célokra épít. Lavoyer a nehezebbik utat választotta, kerékpárral tette meg az utat és elkerülve a művészet Mekkáit egy út mellett döntött, aminek nincsen kifejezett célja: az Ördög utáni hajsza kalandozásainak leitmotivjává vált, melyben egyedül maga az út számít. Az Ördög itt Lavoyer számára nem a gonosz megszemélyesítése, hanem a sötétség, mely mindannyiunkban rejlik: az a rejtett és gyakran ismeretlen
MAGYAR NYELVŰ SAJTÓSZÖVEG / HOSSZÚ oldalunk, ahol a fájdalom, kétség és bizalmatlanság lakozik. Motivációi ennek megismerésére mégsem mazochizmusból fakadnak, hanem abból a törekvéséből, hogy az életet a maga teljességben élhesse át. A művész, aki a graffitti kultúrából növekedett fel gondosan figyelt rá, hogy megtartsa az adok-kapok egyensúlyát. Útja során maga is nyomokat hagyott maga mögött, néha festékspray-vel urbánus környezetekben, néha puszta kezével alkotva objekteket a rurális tájképre. Útja során a «Tüfujeger» új minőségetben teremti újra a «Street Art» fogalmát. Yves Lavoyer munkája és attitűdje egy olyan művészeti pozíciót képvisel, ami túllép a street art label-en saját, egyéni útját követve. És ez az út most Budapestre hozta őt! A «Tüfujeger» Tour szerves részeként Lavoyer már nyomokat hagyott a magyar fővárosban. Több murália és kisebb műalkotás születtek itt-tartózkodása alatt, melyek a kiállításhoz kapcsolódó keretprogramban ugyancsak megtekinthetők. A művész ösvénye a betonút. A Chimera Project szervezésében és bemutatásában, a svájci artacks egyesület támogatásával Lavoyer a galériát egy nyers térré változtatja, ahol az urban art kapcsán kialakított sajátos pozícióját tárja elénk, melyet 17 ország, a legkülönfélébb kultúrák és az utca és betonút testközeli, mindennapos élménye formált.

BP INTRODUCTION The Chimera Project PopUp at Telep Exhibition #2 - «TÜFUJEGER» aka Yves Lavoyer from Switzerland By tying up with it s last years activities in Budapest, Leipzig and Berlin (see www.chimera-project.com/projects), for 2012 the Chimera-Project now wants to expand and show more of its various heads. To make this happen, the people from Telep deliver the Budapest based Project with temporary space. Chimera takes this opportunity to introduce the «Chimera Project PopUp» concept to a broad public. Starting in early february the Chimera-Project literally pops up in the heart of Budapest during a period of four month they friendly occupy the first floor of Telep (Madách út 8.). Up there Chimera-Project transforms bare space into a creative environment: A temporary place to meet & work, think & develop, show & exhibit. The raw structure of a Chimera Project PopUp consists of an exhibition and a separated working-space. Chimera-Project creates platforms for both, art & the creative industries. The Chimera-Project PopUp wants to enable encounters & collaborations, support local creative professionals, invite international artist to put it simple, the PopUp is a platform that wants to make a difference! The past exhibition set the stage for the famous 1000% collective. The retrospective shown at the Chimera Project PopUp was the first exhibition of the ongoing series called «Some call it urban art...» curated by Patrick Urwyler. For the upcoming exhibition Chimera Project now invites the Swiss artist Yves Lavoyer to Budapest. CHIMERA PROJECT POPUP - CURRENT EXHIBITION EXHIBITION #2 «TÜFUJEGER» by Yves Lavoyer (CH) March 16. until April 13. 2012 Carrying only humble possessions along with a pencil, sketchbook and spray cans in his backpack the «Tüfujeger» tour (engl. Devil Hunter) tells the story of a Swiss artist traveling by bicycle around the globe. Coming home from his artistic journey, Yves Lavoyer now sends the «Tüfujeger» exhibition on tour. After his first stopover in Zurich the exhibition travels to Budapest: From the 16th of March to the 13th of April it will be on display at the Chimera-Project POP-Up and continues their the urban art exhibition program! The «Tüfujeger» exhibition is a rich and visually stunning assemblage of raw materials and memories - all found and experienced on the streets during the «Tüfujeger- Tour». Carefully collected, analysed and recycled, Lavoyer turned these memories and materials into pieces of art : Precise, organic drawings, multi- layered silkscreens, unique objects, vivid photographs, short movies and impressive wall-paintings are the newly created witnesses that tell the story of a unique artistic journey. Since the renaissance Rome or Paris were the most important destination for a young artists. The resulting, often troublesome artistic journeys were an important experience in the career of every serious artist. These times seem to be gone. Today, in times of EasyJet and internet distances could be taken within seconds or at least in a few hours in a comfortable airplane. In this sense Lavoyer pays respect to the past because his contemporary version of an artistic journey has similar motivations and goals. Lavoyer also took the hard way, but he left the art-mekkas aside and chooses a journey with no specific destination: Hunting the devil becomes the leitmotiv of his adventure where only the path itself is decisive. The devil to him is not the personification of the evil, but the darkness that is inside of everyone of us, the hidden often unknown areas of our human characters, the places where emotions like pain, doubt and distrust live. His motivations are not based on masochism, much more they are created by a need to experience life s entity. The artist on his bike hit a path, which is made out of concrete. For Lavoyer the raw street functions as a rich archive that provide him with shear infinite opportunities. Moreover the artists, who has his roots in the graffiti culture, always made sure that a fair balance is guaranteed.
4. CHIMERA PROJECT POPUP - CURRENT EXHIBITION Therefore he also left his traces on the street, sometimes with spray paint in urban environments, sometimes with his bare hands by creating objects in the rural landscape. In his journey «Tüfujeger» renders the term «Street Art» to something new. Yves Lavoyer s work and attitude represents an artist that overcame the simple «street art» label and choose his own, individual path. A path that lead him to Budapest! In the exhibition-space of the Chimera-Project Popup Lavoyer reacts on the spatial conditions with a site specific installation. The important part will be the use of a cutting edge concrete, created by the local architect and concrete manufacturing studio VPI. Whithin the exhibition and in cooperation with VPI, Lavoyer will have the possibility to experiment with special designed and costumized concrete plates that will be experimentally attacked, transformed and integrated into the installation. As an integral part of the Tüfujeger-Tour, Lavoyer already left his traces in the Hungarian capital. Different wall-paintings and several smaller works in various contexts are to be revisited within the framework program of the exhibition. Organized and presented by Chimera-Project and supported by the Swiss association attacks, Lavoyer will turn the gallery into a raw space, where he shares his view and thoughts about urban art - experienced in various cities around Europe, shared within different cultures and lived day by day on the streets.

CHIMERA PROJECT POPUP - EXHIBITION CONCEPT EXHIBITION CONCEPT «SOME CALL IT URBAN ART» The exhibition series at Chimera Project Popup The temporary and spatial occupation at Telep acts as active examination of the given environment and its audience. Telep is a melting pot of various subcultural and alternative activities in Budapest this lays a fruitful ground for Chimera-Project s up-andcoming exhibitions. Whether actively involved or positively influenced by (sub)cultures like Graffiti and Street Art, Skateboarding (ect.) and its associated ideas, creative technics & aesthetics, the planned series of exhibitions will confront the audience with art that is rooted in todays urban subcultures some would also just call it «urban art». Patrick Urwyler, art historian and curator says: The virulent label of «urban art» is nothing more than an attempt to describe and subsume an alleged group of artists, that share a common denominator, often poorly described with the adjective «urban». Because of this poor definition confusions, prejudice and generalizations are bound to happen, even more by facing the fact, that «urban art» and its protagonists often perform a balancing act between fine art & design. We do not understand «urban art» as a rigid definition, in its young development nothing is for granted, says Urwyler, who already made several exhibitions dealing with «urban art». Chimera-Project and its exhibition program Chimera-Project is focusing on three exemplary positions in the field of «urban art». Through our program they want to contribute to a serious discussion about «urban art» and its place in the fields of fine art and design. The goal is to show the multilayered ideas and concepts from selected artists from Hungary and abroad. The three exhibitions form three attempts and attitudes that will render «urban art» into something comprehensible, meaningful and reflected.
