Kedves Közönségünk! 1999-ben rendeztük meg elsõ alkalommal, hagyományteremtõ céllal a gödöllõi kastély festõi szépségû dísztermében hárfafesztiválunkat. A szinte tegnap megrendezett elsõ hárfatalálkozó után az idei évben már 10. alkalommal köszöntöm Önöket a világ kitûnõ hárfásainak gödöllõi vendégszereplése alkalmából. Az elõzõ 9 éven végigtekintve elmondhatjuk, hogy Gödöllõn a világ legkiválóbb hárfásai adnak randevút év rõl évre: Marielle Nordmann, Jana Boušková, Maria Graf, David Watkins, Suzanne Mildonian, Isabelle Moretti, Marie-Pierre Langlamet, Ion Ivan Roncea, Xavier de Mestre, Anna Verkholantseva, Frederique Combralain, Anna Sikorzak-Olek, Aneleen Lenaerts, Monika Stadler, Aine Ni Dhubhghaill és Paul Doo ley a világ közvetlen élmezõnyébe tartoznak, de nagy sikert arattak hazánk kiválóságai is: Maros Éva, Sipkay Deborah, Kocsis Andrea, Szilvásy Júlia, Bajtala Emese, Felletár Melinda, Polónyi Ágnes, Gulyás Csilla, Lévai Mária, a Trió Hárfisszimó és a Magyar Hárfaduó. Now I welcome you to the 10th International Harp Festival in Gödöllõ on the occasion of performances of excelent harpists from all over the world. Recalling our previous years we are convinced, that we enjoyed concerts of outstanding harpists: Marielle Nordmann, Jana Boušková, Maria Graf, David Watkins, Suzanne Mildonian, Isabelle Moretti, Marie-Pierre Langlamet, Ion Ivan Roncea, Xavier de Mestre, Anna Verkholantseva, Frederique Combralain, Anna Sikorzak-Olek, Aneleen Lenaerts, Monika Stadler, Aine Ni Dhubhghaill és Paul Dooley are among the bests in the world. Our Hun garian harpists achieved also a great success on their concerts. This year we also will salute internatio nal stars of the world. A returning guest at the festival are the David Harp Manufacturers, who have their modern instruments on display in the wonderful rooms of the Palace as usual. This year we have also invited the world-famous Salvi and Camac Factories for our exhibition. 3 October 2008 7 p.m. in the Royal Palace of Gödöllõ A ndrea Vigh In our hectic, noisy world the most essential aim of our festival is to convey to you peaceful relaxation, a cathartic experience which we can keep as a treasure deep in our hearts all our lives. If we manage to achieve this even with as little as a few beautiful sounds, it was worth the effort and we can say we have done the most an artist can consider the goal of his life. Andrea Vigh In 1996 Andrea Vigh became a professor at the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music. She recorded ten solo CDs, all released on the Capriccio and Hungaroton label to great critical acclaim. Following the release of her Harp Concertos CD, she rece i - ved an invitation to the Die Beste programme of German state television ZDF in 1994. Ms Vigh gave several successful solo concerts in the sold-out Great Hall of the Academy of Music in Budapest, and frequently appears in the concert halls of Hungary and Europe both as a solo artist and a chamber musician. Since 1993 she has regularly played with the Buda - pest Festival Orchestra, including concerts in Berlin and Lisboa as well as at the Salzburg Festival, Paris and New York s Car - ne gie Hall. Several TV-recordings have been made of her playing, among them a televised portrait, harp recitals. In 2000 her evening of harp recital was recorded by tv2. During the Budapest Spring Festival 2003 she gave an orchestral concert, conducted by Zoltán Kocsis, then in 2004 she appeared in a concert entitled Chamber Music with Harp with David Grimal, András Adorján and Miklós Perényi at the Music Academy, this being the closing event of a festival to celebrate Hungary s accession to the EU. In 2005, in the Winter Festive Evenings, she performed with Ilona Tokody and Éva Marton in the Pala ce of Arts and the Great Hall of the Liszt Academy. In 2006 she played Mozart s Concerto for Flute and Harp with Béla Drahos and the Symphonic Orchestra of the Hungarian Radio, conducted by Tamás Vásáry. Ms Vigh is the founder and artistic leader of the Gödöllõ International Harp Festival, launched in 1999.

5 October 2008 7 p.m. in the Royal Palace of Gödöllõ Varvara Ivanova Varvara Ivanova was born in 1987 into a family of musicians in Moscow. She graduated from the Preparatory of Moscow Conservatory and the Music College named after F. Chopin. A child prodigy, she had her first major performance of Händel s Concerto for Harp and Orchestra in B flat major at the age of seven at the Big Concert Hall of the Moscow Conservatory with the Kremlin Chamber Orchestra. At the age of five Varvara was awarded Diploma and special Prize of great Russian harpist Vera Dulova at the International Competition Junior Ensembles in Art (Moscow). She has been awarded major prizes in numerous harp competitions, including the Prize of the International Competiton Piccoli Mozart (Monte Carlo), 1997, Prize of the President of Russia, 1997, First Prize at the Lily Laskine Harp Competition (junior division, Deauville), 1999, First Prize at the Vera Dulova Harp Competition in Russia, 2002. In November 2003 Ms Ivanova won first prize at the prestigious International Harp Contest in Israel. She has also been awarded a highly-coveted scholarship from the Rostropovich Music Fund. She has arranged several keyboard classics to the harp, including Bach s Toccata and Fugue in D Minor, a prelude from Bach s Well-Tempered Clavier, a Brahms intermezzo and Chopin s Fantaisie Impromptu. She is an outstanding harpist and is already able to perform in all the world demonstrating precise knowledge of her instrument and enormous talent (Maestro Mstislav Rostropovich). Ivanova demonstrated that she is a born virtuoso. Her sensitivity, beauty of sound and musicality captured a near-capacity audience one of the very few harpists who can simultaneously awe and charm. Ivanova: Pictures at an exhibition, Parish-Alvars: Fantasy on themes of the opera Norma by Bellini Varvara Ivanova 1987-ben született Moszkvában. 5 évesen kü löndíjat nyert a nagy orosz hárfás, Vera Dulova fiatal tehetségek számára rendezett versenyén. Mint csodagyerek elsõ kon certjét 7 éves korában, a Moszkvai Csajkovszkij Kon zer va - tó rium Nagytermében tartotta, ahol Händel B-dúr hárfaver se - nyét játszotta a Kreml Kamarazenekar közremûködésével. A legfontosabb nemzetközi versenyeken nyert díjai: I. díj, Lily Laskine Hárfaverseny (junior kategória), Deauville (1999), I. díj, Vera Dulova Hárfaverseny, Oroszország (2002), I. díj, Izraeli Nemzetközi Hárfaverseny, Tel Aviv (2003). Miután 16 évesen megnyerte a világ egyik legnagyobb hárfaversenyét Izraelben, elnyerte a Rosztropovics alapítvány ösztöndíját. Ki ma gasló hárfás, hatalmas tehetség (M. Rosztropovics), cso dálatos zenész és igazi mestere hangszerének (Michael Rach levsky). Ivanova bebizonyította, hogy született virtuóz. Gulyás Csilla received her degree at the Music Academy of Budapest in 2005. Besides giving recitals and playing in concerts of chamber music she has taught at the Kodály Zoltán Hungarian Choir School for several years and also supervises the teaching practice of the harp trainee teachers of the Ferenc Liszt Music Academy. Her first album My Harp was relea - sed in December 2006 under Hungaroton Classic label. Her second album, entitled Latin, was released in the fall of 2007. Aeol hárfatrió Gulyás Csilla, Liebe Nóra, Kolarics Kinga Katinka Az Aeol Hárfatrió Magyarországon egyedülálló, három fiatal hárfásból alakult kamarazenei együttes. Repertoárjukon a klaszszi kus zeneirodalom legszebb és legnépszerûbb mûveinek átira tai mellett eredeti, hárfára írt triók is megtalálhatóak. Céljuk, hogy zenéjükön keresztül ne csak a komolyzene gyöngyszemeit, hanem ezt a ritka és csodálatos hangszert is minél közelebb hoz zák közönségükhöz. The Aeol Hárfatrió is a chamber music ensemble formed by three young harpists and is unique in Hungary. Their repertoire includes not only the adaptations of the most beautiful and popular pieces of classical music but original works written for the harp as well. Their aim is to attaract their audiences both to the gems of classical music and to this rare and wonderful instrument.

7 October 2008 7 p.m. in the Royal Palace of Gödöllõ Constance Luzzati Constance Luzzati trained as both a harpist and musicologist. This background allows her to devote her time to extending the repertoire of the harp through the transcription of early music, with the help of harpsichordist Kenneth Weiss as part of her advanced studies at the National Paris Conservatory, as well as through the exploration of contemporary music (in particular the creation, Tocar for solo harp by Bruno Mantovani in 2006). After studying at the School of Music in Le Mans, and the Regional Paris Conservatoire, she began her studies at the National Paris Conservatory, where she won five awards: the award for harp, after training with Isabelle Moretti, with unanimously high marks from the jury, as well as awards for musical analysis, music history, musical culture and aesthetics. She then obtained the teaching proficiency certificate in musi cal culture and continued studying with Germaine Lorenzini, which led her to win several prizes at international competitions, including first prize in Wales in 2006, and first prize in Szeged in Hungary in 2007. She won the Avant-Scènes competition at the Paris Conservatory in December 2006, then the Adami competition, as well as the Marcel Bleustein-Blanchet Foundation prize, which enabled her to pursue her studies of the baroque harp at Scuola Civica in Milan with Mara Galassi. Constance performs regular recitals in France and abroad, in Italy, Spain, Portugal, Great Britain, Hungary, the Netherlands and Japan. In 2007 and 2008, she has performed solo in Paris at the Cité de la Musique, Théâtre de la Ville, the Maison de la Radio and the Petit Palais concert halls, as well as at the European Harp Symposium in Cardiff, the World Congress in Amsterdam, the Folle Journée music festival in Nantes, the DuoDijon hall, at the Maison de la Musique in Nanterre, the Gargilesse harp festival, the Besançon festival, the Kyoto festival and the Flâneries musicales festival in Reims. She has also been broadcast on Radio France, for whom she has recorded several shows and concerts for France Musique.

8 October 2008 7 p.m. Hall of the Old Liszt Academy, Budapest Jakez François Jakez FRANÇOIS comes from a family of Breton musicians, and a friend of the family, the well-known Breton harpist Alan Stivell, introduced him to the Celtic harp. Jakez studied classical music at the Conservatories of Nantes and Tours, before moving to Boulogne, where he won first prize in the harp class. He studied under Mmes Catherine de Preissac, Marileine Bouchaud, Isabelle Perrin and Annie Fontaine and had the opportunity of advice from Gérard Devos and Catherine Michel. These different teachers and the many contacts he has subsequently been able to make with notable harpists and instructors resulted in his developing a technique that has evolved from the various schools of harp playing with which he has been involved. Alongside his studies of the classical harp, he has specialised in the Celtic harp, for which he has been awarded numerous prizes among them the World Harp Trophy for the Celtic harp, the first prizes in festi vals at Kan Ar Bobl and Dinan. Jakez is both a composer and an improviser. He takes an active part in work shops for improvisation on the harp, as well as in the European training courses in Harp Impro visa - ti on in Lyon, France. He has won many awards for both composition and improvisation, and has already been awarded Commande d État for the composition of a work for solo harp. For the last 10 years, however, Jakez has been involved with harps in a quite different way, for he is now commercial director of Camac Production. His training as a harpist, together with his collaboration with Joël Garnier, from whose experience he benefits, has made him a particularly knowledgeable spokesman among harpists and their pupils. Jakez François has toured extensively with his jazz-harp trio (electric harp, bass and drums). After studiing at the Prague Conservatory and Ostrava University she pursued her education with Professor Susan McDonald, at Indiana University in the U.S.A. She has accumulated many major competition achievements, including awards from the world s two most prestigious harp contests: in 1992, gold medal at the International Harp Competition U.S.A.; and second prize at the International Harp Contest in Israel. Besides that, she is likewise the winner of the 1998 edition of Paris Concours International de Musique de Chambre, and holder of the 1999 Harpa Award of Switzerland, for her exceptional achievement as a concert artist and her outstanding contribution to the advancement of the art of harp interpretation. Jana Boušková features permanently, both as a soloist and as a member of various chamber music ensembles, on the programmes of leading concert halls and music festivals in her home country and internationally (Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center in New York; Gewandhaus in Leipzig; Symphony Center in Chicago; Théâtre de la Ville in Paris; Berlin Philharmonic Hall; Suntory Hall in Tokyo; Rudolfinum in Prague; as well as the Prague Spring; Berliner Festtage).
