Charity in Action Not Good News but Great News from Cherrybrook PS I was so proud of the students and staff at Cherrybrook PS this week, with several charitable initiatives being taken up by our staff, students and the wider school community. Operation Christmas Child washighlightedbyastudent,daniel5yandoursrcdecidedtopromotethis worthyinternationalcause.withtheassistanceofmrsloveday,staffandourstudents,children wereaskedtoconsiderdonatingagiftinashoeboxforachildoverseas.theschoolwasasked toparticipateinamuftidaygoldcoindonationtodefraythecostsoftransportingtheseboxes. The response from our school and parents was overwhelming. There will be hundreds of childreninafrica,asiaandindia,receivingaspecialgiftfromthestudentsofcherrybrookps. Somestudentsevenplacedapersonalmessagetothechildtomakeitamorepersonalnote. Congratulations to Daniel, Mrs Loveday and to all the Cherrybrook community who supported thisworthwhilecause.ifyouwishtofindoutmoreinformationaboutthischaritygotoyou Tube andenteroperation Christmas Child. The staff also participated in a morning tea organised by Miss McKenzie to support breast cancer research. This insidious disease touches many, many Australian women and their familiesanddoesnotdiscriminateinwealth,raceorage.asyou seefromtheattachedimage,dietswerethrownoutthewindowto supportthisworthycause.thefundsraisedwillassistinresearch and assistance for women and their families. Theaboveexamplesallowourchildrentopauseandthinkhowluckytheyaretobeinsucha safe, happy community where the children have available to them the resources that many otherchildrenjustdreamofhaving.onceagain,thankyoutothechildren,staffandparentswho assistinensuringourchildrenstopandthinkofothersinthisworld.
