The individual arabesques are linked by cross-curved lines depicting stylized the wind s play and the rhythm of waving of desert dunes and sand. This garland as a wrap-around ornamentation especially runs on the edges of the image and frames it. The deep purple fond is made particularly elegant by the noble glitter of gold giving spatial effect to the landscape. Influenced by gold, the deep purple fond shifts towards warm color effect fitting the mood of desert. It is the smallest leopard species, and belongs to the critically endangered species according to the World Conservation Union, as only about 200 wild individuals are still alive. Master painter Sándor Vida captured faithfully the slightest movement and the color scheme of the animal. This is how the decoration of this special ornamental vase was born, drawing attention to protected animals. The ornamental vase with meticulous painting and particular openwork reflects nearly two centuries of expertise passed on among the Herend masters from generation to generation. The colorful decoration of the vase was inspired by a type of Indian silk tapestry. The pattern refers to life and death, the eternal growth and development, and the continuous renewal. The birds of paradise depicted by the pattern have symbolic meaning, as they were considered as God s birds coming from Paradise. The shoulder and the lid of the vase are also decorated with meticulous, so-called Topkapi openwork and relief inspired by the ornamentation of the Turkish Topkapi Palace. The painting of the masterpiece was done by the excellent painter Ágota Tusnovits Szilágyi. Díszváza Kivételes remekmû a Herendi mûhelyekbõl! Dragon turtle is promoted as a positive ornament of Feng Shui, symbolizing courage, determination, fertility, longevity, power, success and support. This creature as an ornament is traditionally placed facing the window. In ancient China, it was thought that Ao, a cosmic sea turtle, carries the Earth upon his armor, thus representing the mainstay of the world. The patterns on these Herend Porcelain items were inspired by the Iznik four-flower and hundred-leaf patterns, which had appeared in the ornamental and household object culture of the Ottoman Empire in the 1560s. The pattern and form collection designed by Erika Varga Éles is a delicate and youthfully defined style of this group of objects harmonizing with today s housing culture. As a sacred symbol of power, it appears first in Egypt. The Egyptian hieroglyphs depict the sun god as a falcon, which protects the chosen one with stretched wings over the ruler s head. It is also very common in the Bakony Hills surrounding the Herend Porcelain Manufactory. Thus, the Herend masters could observe it up-close to shape it from porcelain. It is made with three special painting methods. The concept of this series is to show the natural habitats of this animal: these are displayed on its body as self-contained themes and decorations. On the first one, a wheat field is waving as it wades through it. On the second one, the forest, well known by it, is depicted in mysterious evening, and finally the mud appears, in which it loves to wallow, and provides protection for it.
