Korarómai épületmaradványok nyomai az aquincumi katonaváros nyugati részéből Traces of Early Roman building remains in the western part of the Aquincum Military Town (Budapest, 111. ker.. Bécsi út 181-185., lírsz.: 17255) (Budapest 17255 ) 111, 181-185 Bécsi Road, Lrn: A Becsi út - Föld utca sarkán található telek területén a Propszt Kft. megbízásából másfél hónapos építkezést megelőző feltárást folytattunk. A kutatás által érintett területen több ponton is lehetőségünk nvílt ezeket a rétegeket megfigyelni, ami valószínűsíti, hogy a telek keleti felében nagyobb felü- On the territory of the lots on the corner of Bécsi Road and Föld Street, we conducted excavations over one and a half months at the commission of Propszt Kft. The investigations primarily extended over the territory of the deep parking garage, the channel shafts and the elevator shaft in the eastern part of the garage, since elsewhere the foundation disturbed only modern fill. The traces of the earliest settlement could be observed in the standages extending under the foundation of the deep parking garage and in the sections of the pit dug in order to defuse the bombs that had been uncovered during the construction. In the pits we reached the black, compact clayey layer from which no archaeological finds were recovered. A pointed post was sunk into this layer. It was observed in the eastern section of a pit dug to defuse a bomb. We could not find traces of more posts. In the standages, pink layers and black ashy Roman layers containing charcoal were alternately deposited on top of the black clayey layer. 1 he presence of layers of burnt materials can he explained by the proximity of the pottery in Kiscclli Street (NAGY 1937, 268, NAGY 1942, 627-629, PÓCZY 1956, 78-90, PARRAGI 1971, KIRCHHOF 2002, 144, KIRCHHOF 2003, 53-54). A mélygarázs eléli felében nyitott zsomp nyugati metszetében a hamus planírozási rétegekbe mélyített, kőből épített észak-déli irányú falalapozást tártunk fel. (1. kép) Ehhez hasonló kőalapozású, agyagtégla felmenőfalú épületalapozások a canabae legionis területén a Kr. u. 2. század elejétől kezdődően jelen vannak. (MADARAS S Y 1998, 50) A telek nyugati végében ásott liftakana aljában római épület omladékát tártuk fel. A kőalapozású, vályog felmenőfalú épületet fehér vakolattal látták el. Az omladék elbontása során keltező értékű leletanyag nem került elő, azonban a tetőtéglák egyikén a legio II Adiutrix kerek, háromszögletű kivágással készített bélyegzőjét figyeltük meg. (2. kép) A Bécsi út 189. teíken (MADARASSY 2000, 55) talált épületalapozás hasonló jellegéből adódódóan feltételezhető, hogy egyidőben, egy koncepció alapján készültek. A mélygarázs délnyugati felében agyagtéglákból rakott kétperiódusú építmény had the opportunity in a number of spots m the investigated territory to observe these layers, which implies that landscaping work with a laver of ash and charcoal can be expected over a large surface in the eastern part of the lot. In the western section of the standage opened in the southern half of the deep parking garage, we uncovered a northsouth oriented wall foundation built of stone and sunk into the ashy landscaping layers. Similar building foundations comprised of stone foundations and adobe walls were present in the territory of the canabae legionis (Military down) from the beginning of the AD 2 nd century (MADA RASSY 1998, 50). On the bottom of the elevator shaft dug into the western end of the garage, the ruins of a Roman building were unearthed. The building had a stone foundation, and the adobe walls were covered with white plastering. No datable finds were recovered from the ruins, only a round stamp of the legio II adiutrix with a triangular perforation in it was observed on one of the roof
(MADARAS S Y 2000, 53-54) A homokréteg nagyobb dunai áradással hozható összefüggésbe. tiles. We suppose from the similar features of the building foundation unearthed at 180 Bécsi Road (MADARASSY 2000, 53) that these buildings were constructed at the same time and based on the same concept. The southeast corner of a two period building clay bricks was found in the southwest corner of the deep parking garage. A vellovv-grev clav brick wall constructed of large clay blocks, which measured a regular Roman foot at the top, was found at the bottom. A part of it was burnt red and black probably as a consequence of a conflagration. We did not have the opportunity to investigate its foundation. Along the eastern side of the clav brick wall we observed a northeast-southwest running black gravely laver mixed with small bricks and bone fragments which mav indicate the floor level of building. An east-west oriented ditch was dug besides the clav brick building after its destruction, which carried off rain water from the hill and which was probably dug during a rainy period. In a subsequent dryer period, the ditch filled m with the Kiscelli yellow clav that eroded down from the hill' After the cessation and the filling-in of the ditch, a levelling laver mixed with 2. kép. 6. A katonaváros nyugati feléből, a Bécsi út 123., (MADARASSY 2001, 55), a Bécsi út 127. Valószínűleg ezzel a cölöpépítménnyel hozható összefüggésbe a terület több pontján megfigyelt fehér mészpettvekkcl kevert sárga agvagplanírozás, amelyből agvagtégrcd-burnt elav-daub fragments and small brick fragments was spread at the western edge of the investigated territory This laver alternates with thicker sand layers. The laver of daub extended into the territory of the neighbouring lot at 54 hold Street. (MADARASSY 2000, 53-54) The sand laver can be connected with a great inundation of the Danube. (A. Mindszenty, Z. I lorváth, E. Krolopp ELTE Department of Applied and Environment Geography) We probably should expect the ruins of Roman constructions that were destroyed by the floods. The skeleton of a small mammal (a eat?) lav on top of the levelling laver. In the southern section of the northern surface dug out for the deep parking garage, a system of postholes arranged in a regular pattern was observed. These postholes were sunk into the levelling laver of bricks and daub. After the analysis of the find material it vv ill be possible to provide a more exact elating to the finds recovered from Bécsi Road. We know of post structure constructions from the northern part of the Military Town from 123 Bécsi Road,
Iákból emelt fehérre vakolt épületek közeli jelenlétére lehet következtetni. Ujabb szárazabb időszak nyomát mutatja a hegyről a megnövekedett erózió hatására lecsúszó nagyobb mennyiségű agyagréteg, amely vastagon beborította a területet. A Kr. u. 2. század elejére keltezhető az a kelet-nyugati iramú köves-téglás, opus mixtum jellegű alépítménnyel rendelkező vízvezeték, amelyet egy újabb hegycsuszamlást követően megújítottak. A későbbi víz- vagv csatornavezeték (7. kép) alatt két szögletes, kövekből épített pillért találtunk. (8. kép) A pilléreket sárga agyagos, fehér mészpettvekkel kevert rétegbe ásták be. építkezés kezdetén a felső rétegeket munkagéppel elbontották. The connection between previous finds from Bécsi Road and the finds recovered in 2004 is not vet demonstrated. The vellow clav levelling mixed with while limey spots, observed in a number of spots on the territory can probably be linked with this post construction. This layer suggests the existence of buildings nearby, built of clav bricks and covered with white plaster. The large bulk of the clav laver that had slipped down from the hill as a consequence of intensified erosion marks another dry period. This clav covered the territory thickly (A. Mindszenty, Z. Florváth, E. Krolopp ELTE Department of Applied and Environment Geography) The east-west running aqueduct made of stone and bricks, which had a substructure of an opus mixtum type, can be dated from the beginning of the AD 2 nd century It was renewed after another landslide. Two angular pillars built of stones were found under the later aqueduct or drain

The pillars were dug into a yellow clayey layer mixed with white lime spots. The exterior wall of the aqueduct was built of stone, the interior one of tegulae. Two bricks preserved the lunula and planta pedis-shaped stamps of the legio II Adiurix PE The aqueduct was filled in around the middle of the AD 2 nd century or a bit after. After the abandonment of the later channel, there seems to have been another clav slide from the hill. The hearths or ovens built of clav and reinforced with stone evidence the later utilisation of the territory. A large number of animal bones and iron nails were found in the environment of the hearths although no datable finds have been recovered, thus, their date is uncertain. West of the smaller fire place, the wall of which burnt red, we documented a levelling layer of stones and bricks. The two, probably Roman, features (the fire place and debris) extended towards the south but wc had no opportunity to completely unearth them. In the ease of the large angled fire place, a dating from the Middle Ages or the early modern period is also possible. The fire places were covered with a yellow clav layer coming from two more clay slides. Between the layers, a moister climatic period could be documented, which favoured the development of vegetation. We have no information to date this clay layer since the upper layers were removed at the start of the construction work. The modern humus layer appeared on top of the second clayey layer.
