Opening dances The Palota s or Palace Dance has its origins in the 15th century, when performed for the King by young nobles. It comprises a dignified flowing dance, the Andalgo, then a quick section based on the Verbunkos. In the 19th century it became the traditional opening dance at formal balls. The Annaba l waltz is the last composition of Jeno Huszka, inspired by the magic of the Anna Summer Balls in Balatonfu red. It was first performed in 1962 after the traditional Parade Palota s. The waltz was choreographed by Timm Rentrop. The notes of the Annaba l waltz were provided by the Za konyi estate by Dr Anna A cs, director of the Balatonfu red City Museum.
